The Fall of Troy

Tour Merch Illustration

The Fall of Troy approached me for a piece of tour merchandise with complete creative freedom. No restrictions, no prescribed direction—just an open invitation to make something that felt true to the band.

The concept

The illustration depicts a crumbling king statue adorned in gold—an image rooted in themes of power, ego, decay, and impermanence. Rather than leaning into literal band imagery, the goal was to create something symbolic and emotionally charged.

The approach

With no constraints on style or subject matter, I leaned into expressive distortion and controlled chaos—pushing the illustration as far as it could go without losing cohesion.

The balance came from composition and restraint: allowing fragmentation and texture to carry energy, while keeping the overall form readable and intentional.

Creative freedom

Projects like this are rare, but they’re where my work is most alive. When there’s trust, the work can take risks—and those risks are what give an image staying power.

Outcome

This piece is an example of what happens when concept, taste, and trust align. It’s bold, imperfect, and unapologetic—designed to feel powerful on a shirt, not polite on a screen.
